City of Ghosts Photo Galleries
For CITY OF GHOSTS, Kelli had to research and recreate the glamorous era of the Art Deco streamliner: most people traveled by rail, trains and train cars sported memorable names, and luxury and speed meant a 39 3/4 hour trip between San Francisco and Chicago.
Though the days of the Orient Express and the Twentieth Century Limited are long gone, remnants of linger. Fortunately, the Millbrae Train Museum (operated by the Millbrae Historical Society) preserves a car from the famed City of San Francisco streamliner, one of the settings from CITY OF GHOSTS. Though the train underwent great changes during World War II and subsequent decades, traces of her glory days remain. Here are some photos from Kelli’s photographic journey.
