Kelli, All my love to you. Your bittersweet portrait has made me weep for your mom and dad even though I never met them and for the sadness you’re feeling. Wishes of warm sunshine on your face, deep laughter and good will of friends surrounding you, and the well-deserved satisfaction from your work–not the same as mom and dad, but what life has to offer when we’re down.

What a lovely tribute to love – yours and theirs! Your gift of words – of which your mother was so proud – served you well once again.

This is a moving, painful, beautiful post, Kelli. I was saddened to hear of your losses on DL, but glad for the perspective you have them in.

Thanks so much for the kind words, Jenny! Loss is the toughest thing to handle in life, and the pain is always in proportion to the love. It’s the price we pay–and still worth every second.

An incredible, moving story, Kelli. Your mom told you should write their love story, and you wrote the socks off it. I’m sure she’d be proud and pleased with what you have done, (again), as we all are.

Judy, my dear friend, thank you so much. Words seem like clumsy instruments when it comes to my parents–and really, any deep emotion. Thanks for reading and being such a stalwart and supportive friend!

I’m happy and even compelled to share, my dear friend–one way to keep their memory alive is to share it with my extended family. Much love!

What a lovely tribute Kelli. You definitely won the parent lottery. And your post makes me feel like I was lucky enough to have known them as well. So sorry for your loss…

Thank you, Kat. I’m the luckiest person I know in terms of my relationships. They were such unique people, so different yet so bonded on a deep level. I’m proud to share a little bit of their specialness, and very glad that you feel you got to know them.
